A project of Carousel, an organisation set up in 1982 to create opportunities for people with learning disabilities to train in the creative arts, Trusthouse funded the Carousel Singers to deliver 32 singing workshops and make 6 public performances at venues including the Brighton Dome Foyer and Sallis Benney Theatre.

Commenting on the impact of the choir on its members, Peter Vince of Mayfield Children’s Home remarked: “Michael has been able to develop his social skills at the Carousel Singers and has started to really come out of his shell and has become a key member of the group. I feel that that this has been essential for Michael’s development and emotional wellbeing. Michael’s world is music at the moment and this time gives him the opportunity to forget his worries and just enjoy growing up. Thanks to Carousel for all of your fantastic work.”
